IPL MATCH 73,SRH V/S RR:
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has secured their place in the IPL 2024 final by defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2. Led by Pat Cummins, SRH will now face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final, who had earlier defeated SRH in Qualifier 1 to reach the final.
In Qualifier 2, RR won the toss and chose to bowl first. Despite restricting SRH to 175/9, RR's batting lineup fell short, with only Yashasvi Jaiswal (42) putting up a notable performance.
Heinrich Klaasen's Crucial Knock
Heinrich Klaasen played a crucial role for SRH, scoring 50 runs off 34 balls after the team was struggling at 57/3 and later at 120/6. Klaasen, along with Shahbaz Ahmed, Pat Cummins, and Jaydev Unadkat, helped SRH reach a competitive total.
Trent Boult's Early Strikes
Trent Boult disrupted SRH's start by taking three key wickets in the powerplay, including Abhishek Sharma (12), Rahul Tripathi (37), and Aiden Markram (1). Sandeep Sharma further dented SRH's innings by dismissing Travis Head (34).
Despite the setbacks, SRH's middle and lower order ensured they posted a defendable total, leading to their victory and securing a spot in the final against KKR.
