Team India Head Coach: After the T20 World Cup 2024, Rahul Dravid will step down as the head coach of the Indian cricket team. Consequently, the BCCI is in search of a new head coach. Ricky Ponting, who was a contender for the role, has pulled out of the race. He has declined the position. Currently, Ponting is the head coach of the Delhi Capitals in the IPL.

Ponting Cites Family and Time as Reasons for Stepping Back: Ponting mentioned that while he was interested in becoming the head coach of the Indian team, he had his reasons for turning down the offer. The biggest reasons are his busy schedule and the time he wants to spend with his family. The head coach of the Indian team has to work approximately 10-11 months a year. Additionally, accepting this position would mean he could no longer coach any IPL team.
