IPL 2024: Will Mumbai Brigade create a hat-trick of losses or secure their first win... Hardik Pandya's 'Indians' in trouble.

Five-time champions Mumbai Indians have had a very poor start in IPL 2024. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians have lost both their initial matches. They are currently at the bottom of the points table, ranking 10th. However, Mumbai Indians' rich history is evidence of their comeback. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, this team has risen above the last position and even become champions. But now, it's not Rohit but Hardik leading the team. If Hardik wants to elevate the team from the ground to the throne like Rohit did, he'll need to make at least three changes.

When Sunrisers Hyderabad set a record score of 277 against Mumbai Indians, and both their excellent batting performance and Hardik Pandya's poor captaincy were responsible for it. It's surprising that in that match, Hardik gave the ball to Bumrah when Hyderabad had already crossed the 150-run mark by the second over. Hardik needs to avoid such mistakes. He should distribute Bumrah's bowling spells just like Rohit used to do. Rohit used to utilize Bumrah for one over in the powerplay and one over in the middle, reserving the remaining two overs for the end.

Hardik needs to come up in the batting order, not just the proper utilization of Jasprit Bumrah. Hardik Pandya also needs to make changes in his batting order. He batted at number seven against Gujarat Titans, which is not right for a batsman of his caliber. Everyone knows that Hardik can adjust his batting gear according to the team's needs. In this case, it would be right for Mumbai Indians if Hardik bats a bit higher.

Tim David needs to be given more opportunities. We saw against Gujarat Titans that Tim David was sent to bat at number six. Before him, Namman Dheer, Dewald Brevis, and Tilak Varma went to bat. In a tight match where Tim David could have changed the game with his hard-hitting, he was sitting in the dressing room. Perhaps this decision was made after seeing Gujarat's spin attack. But it's not right for Mumbai to keep Tim David hidden like this. When the team is in rhythm, he can hit any spinner's ball beyond the boundary.
