Hindustan Unilever has rebranded its 'health food drinks' as functional nutritional drinks (FND) following a directive from the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This move comes after e-commerce platforms were instructed to remove drinks and beverages from the 'healthy drinks' category.

In response to a directive from the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Hindustan Unilever, known for its various brands including Horlicks and Boost, has undertaken a rebranding initiative. The company has renamed its 'health drinks' category, repositioning its former 'health food drinks' category as 'functional nutritional drinks'

Ritesh Tiwari, the chief financial officer of Hindustan Unilever, mentioned, "We've updated the labels of the category to FND, which is a clearer way to refer to it.

He mentioned that the category has room for growth and is a big opportunity. Hindustan Unilever plans to focus on attracting more customers, increasing usage, and providing additional benefits to encourage consumers to switch to the FND category. They're also experiencing good growth in their premium products focused on diabetes and women's health.
