Is Delhi headed for presidential rule?
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's questions show no signs of abating. Rejecting his request to object to his arrest, the Supreme Court refused to expedite the hearing of the case. Meanwhile, discussions regarding the establishment of the presidency also flared up in Delhi.
CM Kejriwal will remain in jail at least till April 15. However, after Kejriwal's arrest, a new crisis emerged in Delhi. The Delhi High Court rejected his plea. He condemned his arrest.
On Tuesday, Deputy Governor VK Saxena said he had written to the Ministry of Administration. The letter said that a meeting was held to discuss the government's activities after Kejriwal's imprisonment, but the ministers were not present. In that letter, the deputy governor writes that the reason for the ministers not attending this meeting is unclear. This shows a lack of seriousness and understanding of the issues affecting the lives of Delhiites.
