Amit Shah made a big announcement regarding the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), stating that no country has ever been governed solely by Sharia law. There is no personal law in any democratic country. Now, it's time for India to move forward.

Amit Shah's statement about running the country on the basis of Sharia or personal law should be critically examined. No democratic country operates on personal law. Why is it so?

BJP's manifesto also promises the implementation of a Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

Expanding on his argument, Home Minister Amit Shah pointed out that there are numerous Muslim-majority nations globally where Sharia law isn't enforced, highlighting India's imperative to advance. It's worth noting that the BJP's manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections included the pledge to implement a Uniform Civil Code in the country.

Shah also mentioned the historical promise of a Uniform Civil Code made by the Constituent Assembly, underscoring that all democratic nations embrace such a code, urging India to follow suit. Furthermore, he criticized the Congress for its opposition to the Uniform Civil Code, arguing that in a secular nation, there should be a single law applicable to all, branding Congress's stance as indicative of its fearlessness towards polarization and its entanglement in vote bank politics, resulting in the failure to fulfill the promises of the Constituent Assembly.
