Abbas Ansari was granted permission by supreme court to attend the the fateha ceremony of his father Mukhtar

Abbas Ansari, MP from Uttar Pradesh, was granted interim permission by the Supreme Court to attend the 'Fateha' ceremony of his father Mukhtar Ansari, who died of a heart attack on March 28. Mukhtar Ensari, a former gangster turned politician, will be commemorated with a ceremony to be held on April 10.

In response, the Supreme Court ordered that Abbas Ansari be taken to Kasganj jail and safely returned to his home in Ghazipur. He will be allowed to stay with his family until April 12, and will return to prison on April 13. Additionally, the Supreme Court allowed Abbas to meet with his relatives on April 11 and 12. He was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in November 2022.

The Allahabad High Court had refused his bail in November last year, citing the seizure of a large number of arms and ammunition from his residence in New Delhi. Representing the Mau Assembly, Abbas also demonstrated his talents in shooting at the international level as a athlete.

Justice Suryakant Sharma, in an order, outlined Abbas' plans to attend the ceremony and emphasized the need for security measures when he is released on parole. The police chief in Uttar Pradesh has been instructed to maintain peace at all times.
