The law enforcement agency has summoned Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi government Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot and directed him to appear today. In response to this summons, Gahlot went to the investigative agency's office for questioning. They interrogated him there for five hours. The Aam Aadmi Party's hold on power in Delhi faces major challenges due to the alcohol scam.On Saturday, the law enforcement agency had summoned Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot for questioning. The authorities had ordered his appearance today (Saturday). After receiving the emergency department summons, Kailash Gahlot reached the emergency room office. He is interrogated there. Several AAP leaders, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, have already been arrested by investigating agencies in this case.The investigating agency claims that Kailash Gahlot was part of the group that prepared the draft alcohol policy. This draft was shared with the southern group. Kailash Gahlot is the Transport Minister in the Government of Delhi. He is considered a close confidant of Delhi Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national coordinator Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case related to Delhi's excise policy. Kejriwal has been remanded in custody until April 1.

   The “Alcohol Scam” refers to a controversy surrounding the excise policy introduced by the Delhi government on November 17, 2021. Under the new policy, the government has withdrawn from the liquor business and all alcoholic beverages. The businesses were handed over to private individuals. The Delhi government claimed that the new alcohol policy would end mafia control and increase government revenue. However, the regulation was controversial from the start and as the controversy continued to escalate, the government revoked it on July 28, 2022.The alleged liquor scam was exposed on July 8, 2022, through a report by former Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar. This report made serious allegations against several senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, including Manish Sisodia. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recommended a CBI probe. Subsequently, the CBI filed a case on August 17, 2022. Allegations of money laundering were also made, prompting the ED to file a case to investigate money laundering.
